The Best Mediterranean Beaches

When somebody utters the word beach, most people will probably daydream about the crystalline waters and golden sands of Hawaiian or Caribbean Islands. However, when you ask a European about their idea of the perfect beach, they will likely describe the beauties of the Mediterranean Sea. Both the Caribbean and the Mediterranean have their unique charm which makes them so special and different to other beaches in the world. However, the Mediterranean Sea, which divides Southern Europe from Northern Africa, is able to offer more than just a beautiful beach and pearly white sand.

Alcudia Beach

Let’s overview some of the best Mediterranean beaches:

Spiaggi Rosa, Budelli.

The Italian island Sardinia is often mentioned as one of the most unique beaches in the world, and the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach) is probably the best example of some of the best that the Mediterranean has to offer. Many visitors have tried to take home some of the salmon-pink sand as a souvenir. Unfortunately, this beach can no longer be accessed by tourists nowadays.

Es Trenc, Mallorca

This beach has been described as flawless by many of its visitors. It is two and a half miles of unspoiled nature. The sand looks like white sugar and the water is crystal clear. The dunes form a unique ecosystem caused by the excess salinity and wind in the zone.

Valencia, Spain

Valencia’s beach is one of the first choices for those that want to experience a great beach close to a city. For those that want to experience culture, gastronomy and history, Valencia might be a great option for them.

Santa Giulia, Corsica

The beach at Santa Giulia, Corsica is an excellent choice for those who travel with the family. Gentle water bordered by trees and rocks make this beach perfect for families with children. Turquoise water and talcum-white sand are waiting for you at Santa Giuliua.

Praia del Fuoco, Italy

Praia del Fuoco is one of those perfect beaches for couples and honeymooners. The beach is only accessible by boat or by a precipitous path. Some visitors arrive by motorboat and spend their time enjoying the beautiful sands before enjoying a unique dinner in some of the nearby restaurants.

Of course to make the most of some of these beaches you will want to ensure you find the right hotel, villa or apartment.  Though holiday resorts are dotted along most coastlines in the Mediterranean, finding alternative cheaper accommodation close to the coast is perhaps a tad little bit harder to find.  We found 9flats.com useful in helping you find alternative holiday accommodation. Don’t delay, getting booking your Mediterranean holiday today!
